What does lame mean?

My Boyfriend calls me lame when I make jokes. They're funny and we both laught but he'll say hahahaha your so lame. Jokes usually about personification which are just silly and amusing.

Lame stuff is usually cute or endearing.

Thanks this was really bothering me for a while, I don't know what it is about that word but I don't like it. I'm just not too big on the cus wrds. I was thinking of calling him lame but that might just encourage him! thank you though it's re leaving to hear that at least you get him.
