What do women think of fraternity guys?

Kinda random question.

I'm in a fraternity. I know that there are some stereotypes of fraternities. I just want to hear a girl's opinion. I'm in a local fraternity, we like to party, everyone says we have a fun time there, and we're not sleeze-balls either. But I guess, is the overall consensus of frat-guys, good, bad, or just like any other guys?

It really depends. I come from a school that had a large number of greek organizations, and most of them were fine. I had friends in both sororities and fraternities, although I myself never felt the drive to get into any of it. Certain ones were the "coolest," certain ones were the "party people," others the "nerds," etc.

And I will admit that I stereotyped to the frat. or sorority. For example, at my university all the Chi Omegas were the rich, snobby girls, the Aplha Gam. girls the smart and pretty ones, the A.O.Pi's the party girls, and Delta Zeta girls were just plain easy. Not all were like that, and I knew it. I had a few friends in the Chi O's, some in the AOPi's, and some that were Delta's. But I did find that many of the girls held true to the stereotype, so I used it.

Same with the guys. You knew which one were the party people, which ones were the nice and fun guys, which ones were likely to get you into jail by the end of the night. I didn't discriminate against Greek organizations as a whole, just the ones with certain reputations on my campus. And that varies from campus to campus, so it was a local thing.

I hung out with frat. guys, partied with them, made friends with many. But the one rule I always had was to never date them. Most of them, even the nice ones, were players here. They would date those of us who didn't join sororities, but they always had a sorority girl too so that they seemed to be "dating greek." If you were greek, you dated others with letters. That's how it went here. And I found that my friends in sororities were always unhappy with the guys in frats that they dated and looked for guys outside of frats because they were nicer. Yet again, though, this is something that could be unique to my campus and isn't everywhere else. But here, you don't date a frat guy unless you have no problem with him cheating on you, because he will. So I don't date them. I may party with them, but that's about it.

I agree mostly. Just some people in our Greek system date outside of Greek and have relationships and some do. They've been strong relationships as well. Except this one girl cheated with her boyfriend (my friend) with one of my other friends when they were on a break. That sucks, so maybe it goes both ways in the Greek system. It's chaos, I want to get out sometimes, but I'm having fun and like the meetings, and the resume builder. I'm not a player or a cheater at all either.

There are two fraternities at my school. One is pretty small, and they're kind of a joke, but the other one is huge, and they piss a lot of people off.

We held a Relay for Life event on campus, and it's an overnight event so everyone participating had a "campsite" in the rec center where we all slept. My team was in the middle of the fraternities and sororities, and it sucked. One of the fraternities (the huge one) took over our area to pass a football while we were trying to sleep, they blocked our walkway, they did a bunch of stupid stuff just to impress the sorority girls. They were complete jerks.

I know a couple frat guys who are pretty decent people, but when they're all together, they're a bunch of sleazy idiots.

well I'm a sorority girl so I spend a lot of time with frat guys and the general consensus of every sorority girl I know is that hanging out with frat guys is a blast, fun to chill with, sometimes fun to f***, but they would never in a million years date one.

I agree. I was in a sorority too and frat guys made the best friends but the worst boyfriends.

Honestly I might assume he's a sleaze and a player. That wouldn't make me hate him though, I give everyone a chance, but yeah that would be my first impression until he proved otherwise =/

Ahhh!! haha.. lol. Oh well, kinda figured. I guess I should figure. Every so often there's a couple girls that come in all wasted and say we're sleeze balls or whatever, none of it's true, it's the label frats get I guess. It's funny though cause they're all dancin downstairs and stuff. I just say, "well, why are you here then if you feel that way?" I don't have anything to prove though if girls just say that stuff. to me I'm not given a chance to get to know her. her mind made up.

Preppy frat guys are the best. All of my best guy friends from college were in frats and they were always so much fun!
