The reason why I am asking because my roommate is COMPLAINING that he hasn't got any. I told him to go out and find someone instead of complaining to me about it but he refuse to do it. 🤦🏻‍♀️ WTH?

Whether or not it's difficult to get laid, depend on how picky you are. There are always girls who want to get laid. Not every night, but they are around. For me, I've never been interested in just getting laid. Regarding your roommate. He needs to get out and do some looking and making friends, etc. Or just stop complaining, if he isn't going to do what is necessary. In reality, most guys look for some kind of connection with a woman, and if your roommate is not working on connections with women, then he is getting what is expected from non-action.

Like you couldn't possibly fathom being a female. Women can get sex like getting a candy bar: Just go out there and you'll eventually find plenty of places to get it. Men can get sex like getting a bottle of brandy: Sure you have a chance of finding it somewhere, somehow, but it's not going to cum cheap or easy (pun intended).

And for the girls who just like to complain, "you're just being too picky," try explaining that to incels. True, actual incels would sleep with 70 year old, 400 pound quadriplegics if they had breasts and a vagina. And she'd probably still tell them "No!" I myself am definitely not an incel, nor picky, and I haven't gotten laid in years. I don't even want sex; I want a genuine relationship, but I've come to accept I have a better chance of walking on the moon than either of those happening right now.

As for the roommate, before COVID, escorts were an easy fix to that, but were also somewhat risky. Unlike what people assume, most escorts are very clean, because their entire livelihood depends on it. They are also very professional and take it seriously as a business. Sites like Eros or EscortAlligator (and all its sister sites) were a good place to start looking. Backpage also used to be really good for that, before the Trump administration shut it down in 2017-2018 for BS reasons. A typical escort costs $200 an hour, and take their job seriously.

Also, if there are any Chinatowns in you city, chances are they're all just fronts for being brothels or secret bordellos. (Nobody really wants to get a massage at 3 in the morning on a Thursday.) My town had plenty of them. The "house tip" for the "happy ending" was between $130 to $180 an hour. (And the "happy ending" isn't just a hand job, it's full sex.) You often get your pick of girls as well, if you go early, like 7pm to 9pm. Those two WERE common options for the short/unattractive/overweight man who couldn't find a companion. But COVID might have messed up those businesses. I haven't been to one in like, two years.

I haven't really tried in a long time.

From what i see of coworkers, it's trivially easy for 10%, challenging for a larger group and feels impossible for a large minority.

To put in specific terms - one married coworker he and his wife both signed up to tinder once to see what they'd get. He's tall, athletic, decent looking, interesting hobbies, vegan. In one weekend immediately has like a dozen matches of attractive women, some of whom begin actively pursuing him. The guy who works under him, short, nice enough, average looking, shy, lacks interesting hobbies, got 0 matches in 3 months.

While of course guys could go hire a prostitute, and obviously some do, most people don't need help orgasming or are not miserable because they specifically want the sensation of a vagina around their penis. They want to feel like they were desired by someone, that their lust was accepted and maybe even appreciated for once, that they could be seen sexually the way they see so many others sexually, that they're a success, that they're decent at sex, that something that's a big part of their thoughts isn't just some sad dead end they have to hide from everyone. Paying for someone to put up with your penis for a few minutes doesn't do that, and can make many men feel like even more of an unwanted failure.

It's like asking why people without friends don't just pay people to pretend to like them.
