Why does he always look down to the floor when walking past me?

There is this guy at my school who I think is kinda cute. I see him a lot on the hallways on my way to class. But every time when we about to walk past each other or right after he has walked past me, he would look down to the floor. There are other time when I walked behind him and saw him walked past everyone and looking straight ahead just fine. I don’t think I have ever done anything to him since we have never talked to each other. So I am confused why he always looks down to the floor when he sees me.
