Guys, What does it mean when a guy friend says he cares “FOR” you?

We was having a serious conversation about him and I. Yes we both like each other we both admitted to it. After the conversation we had is when he told me he cared for me. What is the difference between caring FOR someone and caring ABOUT someone? I know there about the same thing but is there a difference?

It is no different. Care is care. What matters is the INTENT of such care. Because it is often out of personal desires instead of the needs of others. If he already admitted that he has feelings for you romantically is obvious that he desires such a relationship and is trying to make it clear what he wants. But remember that if you don't feel the same in that way or want anything more, his sense of "care" will begin to drop as it is his only motivation. Because his care is about selfishness. If he really cared for you, he wouldn't say what he is saying. He wants a relationship with you and he's making his desires clear. It is again, not about care. It is about what he wants. Either you give him what he wants, or he is going to pull back.
