Why are girls so turned off by awkward and quiet guys?

Why are so many girls turned off by socially awkward men? As someone who’s been socially awkward since I was 10, I do understand that it makes girls feel nervous and uncomfortable but they need to release that’s not our interiors and there’s more to the person beyond their social awkwardness. I’ve been shamed and mocked by both guys and girls in the past for being socially awkward and if someone points that out to me even not in a bad way I’d feel guilt, shame and unworthiness. My opinion shaming awkward guys doesn’t help, and there’s so much misinformation and stereotypes about awkward guys being sexually predators, cold blooded killers, anti-social, incels etc. I can’t speak behalf of all awkward guys but most of us were likely bullied at school or wasn’t popular etc. When we are around girl that we like, it’s like we can’t physically get the words out of mouths

I am absolutely an awkward person when having to be in real life social situations. My personality on here is who I am and I feel way safer to be social with people.

I think it basically comes down to confidence and body posture. We usually take a guarded and defensive posture when in public which some people can read as "I am not comfortable right now please stay away".

When people do make it past that phase and actually get to talking we are still extremely nervous and overthinking the situation rather than just trying to engage in the actual conversation. Girls tend to be better communicators than guys and can read body language easier in a lot of cases so they tend to look for someone who will be more engaging.

i think it's fine to approach people who are socially awkward as long as you have an understanding what you are getting in to. Don't try and force them out of their shell, let them come to you in their own time. Sometimes their answers will be shallow or not make sense, but just be patient, it will happen with time.

I think there’s always room for improve for awkward people in terms of confidence and body language but I’m just pointing it out shaming and judging them isn’t going to help.

Nobody should be shaming them at all for an anxiety i am sure they would rather not have. I like who I am here, I just can't get it to translate in person

I think what you wrote is very sweet, confidence is sexy yes but so is honesty. I know what it's like to be awkward and a complete clutz think most people do, or atleat won't admit it, the more you become self conscious the worse it is, yes girls can be like that too. Best advice is what I was given, to remember that you are actually a very special person with a purpose wether you know it not, that what you experienced has made you a better person with empathy and understanding of people's insecurities, to me no better type of guy exists, because they are themselves without a fake front like most people do to hide their insecurities, be yourself you sound a great guy.

I do not. I try to give every guy a chance. Way too many so called "cool" guys turn out to be jerks. A smart woman will keep an open mind when it comes to dating guys. Quite often to will find a hidden gem over looked by others.
