Is sweat unattractive?

Question

Personally I sweat like crazy , it something I can’t control , I tried to reduce it but I’ll be sitting doing nothing and I will find myself sweating and even in winter. So does this affect how guys see me , I asked my girl-friends and the said it’s gross

Heyy I HEAR YA!!! I am also sweat like a... well... I'll leave that simile to you.

Seriously though, I sweat in the winter too. I totally am on the same "I sweat like crazy" train that you are.

So, is it unattractive. Yes and no.

So if you're sitting in math class with giant wet spots under both arms in a slowly widening sweat circle... while everyone else in class is bone dry... nope... that's not attractive. It will affect the way guys see you. Does that mean that you're now forever unnattractive to that guy? No. Definitely not.

But "she's crazy sweaty" will be something that counts against you when that guy is thinking about how attractive he finds you overall. But honestly, it wouldn't count against you in any significant way (in terms of general attractiveness... if he were to be sitting at home considering what he thought of you... like when you aren't currently sweating through your shirt in front of him)

Guys would see it in about the same way as girls would see it if looking at a dude sweating through his shirt in math class. Not attractive. Decidedly unnatractive. But unless that's just how you sweat everyday, it's not going to be a deal-breaker for anyone.

Now, sweating in (even somewhat) appropriate situations in which to be sweating... that's a different story ENTIRELY.

So if you're in gym class, out in the summer heat or whatever... where everyone is also sweating... just not nearly as much as you are... THEN it's really not a big deal to be sweating through your shirt. It is not look at as unattractive, it won't affect how guys see you.

So my advice as a fellow crazy-sweater... is this:

First of all. Own it. If you are sweating excessively and are in a position where you're worried about other's noticing... BRING IT UP YOURSELF FIRST. Make a comment or joke about the fact that you're currently sweating so much, or about how much you sweat in general. Acknowledging it openly really changes the dynamic.

It's not quite the same. But the logic behind this is "get them to be laughing with you instead of AT you".

It's the same as somebody who takes an embarrassing fall somewhere in public. If they get up and look around embarrassed, to see if anyone saw them looking like an idiot... they DO look like an idiot. Anybody who saw that fall is laughing AT that person.

If the same person were to get up with a smile and make a little joking bow; or triumphantly make an exagerated "voila" gesture of some sort... all of a sudden nobody thinks that person looks like an idiot. Nobody is laughing AT them. They are now laughing WITH them. That's the logic behind explicitly acknowledging out loud the fact that you're super sweaty.

I'll do things like bring a fan someplace totally inappropriate for a fan. or change into another shirt, when nobody else is changing. If someone asks. I tell them I sweat like a Mofo. I often use the "I even sweat standing still in the winter" line, as a standard one in situations like that. I take (and project) the attitude that "meh... it is what it is... so I do what I gotta do... but it's not a big deal". And that IS actually how I feel about it.

So basically, I suggest taking whatever practical measures you can, to help make your excessive sweating easier. Bring a little fan and plunk it on your desk at school with no shame. Bring an extra shirt, Put a sweat rag in your purse if that'd help (My forehead is the worst... so I totally do the rag thing if I can. I was a waiter for years, and I used to keep one in my back pocket and used it several times every shift. Not like... in the dining room. But I would try to hide pulling out my rag to give my forehead a wipe, from my co-workers.

Do whatever you need to do in terms of taking practical measures. And DON''T try to keep those measure a secret. If you act embarrassed... your sweating will be seen by others as "embarrassing" for you. That's when you're in the "being laughed AT" situation. The key is to own it.

It depends.

Did she just come back from the gym or working in the yard? Yes, she probably smells just fine and her body odor is, maybe not “attractive”, but at least “agreeable”.

Does she smell because she hasn’t showered in a week? No, that’s just gross.

Does she smell because she just got done rocking my world in bed and she’s ready for round two? Yeah, that’s hot.

It can be but it depends on why you’re sweating, how much you sweat and if it makes you stink.

Sounds like puberty to me. It's really depends on the smell and if you actually get sweat rings and stuff clearly visible on your clothes. Sweating alone doesn't do it more the impact it can have.
