What is your opinion of the subject of silent prolonged eye contact having the ability to induce multiple personalities?

This is really off the flow of my usual topics but I was in college today and was staring at my friend silently because I was thinking about something else and he is usually the most chill and happiest guy ever but after a 5 minute silent stare he started just saying he was really scared and then later on he started getting angry and then later on he reverted to even more scared. It was only after I finished figuring out what I was thinking about that I apologised and he freaked out on me hehe!

And with my mum, if I stare at her she avoids eye contact and this is a fun activity for me, I will stare at her for long amounts of time as an experiment to see what people do and she goes from nervous humour to mild agitation to mild fear.

Note that in this moment I stare at people and will never reply and just stare, I think being stared at makes people feel uneasy by nature and yet they also want people to look at them, so what is the difference?

Well, I think the difference needs to be the person looking at you shows some form of possitive emotion so you are at ease of their thoughts, whereas if you stare at someone with a straight face they will be uneasy and wonder why you are looking.

Personally, I also look at people for a long time to test their own personalities when not aided by responses, it isn't a hobby but a pastime something for my own amusement sometimes but in other moments for serious non humour interest.

I mean, I can see why it would make someone uneasy. People are usually a little self-conscious, to say the least.

tbh I do stare at people, but i stop when they notice. Unless they're my friend. Then I like to look into their soul, but tbh no-one can really hold the gaze.

I'd like to have a conversation where you are looking straight into eachother's eyes. I want to know what that feels like. I think it would feel really personal, which i might like.

I like that feeling of being close to people, especially my friends of course, so I would like to try that.
Also they say that when you're looking straight into the eyes people can't lie. SO thats also a reason why people look away, because they feel too exposed.

But id like a raw and unfiltered conversation, soul to soul, with some of my closest friends. Now im dying to try it. I wanna feel that "it just got personal" feeling in my gut, its a good one x3

Yeah, I still hold the record for the least likely to break eye contact in any situation because I am almost like a targeting system in that no matter where their eyes move I move my eyes to meet it and wherever their body moves I follow with my eyes until I have to move my body to see further XD

I would love to have a staring challenge with you too! But be aware that I never look away from someones eyes when in a conversation and if a challenge has been put in place then that just spikes my motivation to be even more vigilant XD

I could hold the gaze with you, if I caught you staring at me then I would lock eye contact with you as well and that would continue till you broke it off ^-^

The most special thing I find and probably the other thing that caused me to stare at people so much is because I love to look at all the colours and details in their eyes that people don't mention much, like one person I saw had eyes that looked like a caramel colour and as I stared longer I could see the individual lines inside their eyes, it just becomes mesmerising to see I guess :)

that's cool, i guess you must be pretty close up to someone to see the lines in their eyes? I mean, my sight is not great, I have to use glasses

If we were walking while staring at each other then we would look like a damn couple and if we didn't break the gaze we would injure ourselves! XD

I use glasses too but my eye sight is for long distance, my glasses help my see better from far away and I wear them all the time and that is why when someone is close I can see the more detailed things, I don't need to be face to face but two metres which is the desired distancing at the moment is enough for me to see those lines in the eyes ^_^

And yes it would be a very interesting experience I think for many people, I have to say it really is quite fun because once the two of you are staring at each other, you both create a closed atmosphere that basically makes like a completely different kind of feeling, it is quite enjoyable :)

It can't be deemed rude if all you are doing is paying attention to someone, in some situations if you were not staring at someone while they were trying to get your attention like in a lecture then it would be rude of you to not look at them.

Personally I believe staring at people holds no rude behaviour until you make a negative comment or gesture, otherwise it is simply a observation of your surroundings and therefore harmless, some people are more offended by staring people than others and others don't care at all, it just depends on the personalities. :)
