Why do some men follow a lot of random girls on instagram?

I just started talking to a guy and I noticed that he follows tons of girls on Instagram, a lot of models who post half-naked pictures and a lot of random girls who don‘t follow him back. I feel less attracted to him now because in my eyes, this makes him seem superficial and a bit desperate.. do you think I‘m overreacting? What‘s your opinion on this?

I don’t think you are overreacting , but I think a lot of men only use Instagram to keep up with what women are doing. Strive for a guy that doesn’t have Instagram and you will most likely get better results. Men that typically frequent Instagram are either vain or want to see women.

True, or maybe more so a guy that doesn’t use his Instagram as much. I think any guy that uses Instagram unless a photographer is up to no good on it. Men do not value pics the way women do.

Exactly. I know it‘s just instagram, it‘s just an app but I‘ve only had bad experiences with guys who use it a lot and mainly to look at hot women.

To me 'entertaining' means talking with, interacting with, messaging, etc. In that case, yes, that guy should be avoided. If it's just looking at their pictures, then I don't see the problem.

@spartan if my man is looking at other women while I’m around, I’m calling him out on being disrespectful. It doesn’t matter if they aren’t meeting in real life. Apps like Instagram , Facebook etc are used as dating apps these days. I am just saying I have had better luck with men that aren’t disrespectful and use Instagram to look at women than I have being with men that follow women that they are attracted to.

Oh I absolutely agree but that is to my point that Instagram holds too much value, that’s why I no longer have one and my relationship with my boyfriend is 1000% happier

One of my strongest opinions on here is railing against Instagram and the false reality it's created. Too many people use it seek validation, look for social cues, try to send passive aggressive messages etc.
It's great to hear that someone your age has seen it for what it is. I'm glad it's helped your relationship with your boyfriend too!

My boyfriend first brought up the idea to me and I wasn’t happy with it because I used to be one of those people that took it too seriously, but I came to realization like why do I need validation from random people when I have a boyfriend that is loyal and cares for me. His loyalty is like one in a million honestly.

@Salma_56789 There's no substitute for the real thing. However I think waiting until marriage is a mistake. Sexual compatibility is not guaranteed. Have you talked about what you like or fantasize about? How and how often? Oral? Anal? Kinks? If you aren't going to do it, you better talk about it in considerable detail or someone is likely to be very disappointed.
