Why the heck is my ex from work being stupid nice to me out of no where?

I was dating this guy at work for six months. But the last three months it just didn’t seem to click. I never knew where I stood with him but when I asked if this was what he still wanted he would keep saying yes. Come to find out he was blocking me from posts he made with another girl and without further detail I dumped him no questions asked, only for him to post a picture with the same girl of them making out from a couple weeks prior - proving to me he was cheating and that I was right to dump him. We went through a few weeks of avoiding each other and hardly speaking and it was taking a toll on my mental health. He was dating that girl now and I’m talking to someone else casually. My friend came to see me at work and my “ex” saw us together and that same evening we started talking to each other cordial again but nothing serious. Now out of no where my ex is being super nice to me at work and trying to make conversation and almost acting like he’s crushing on me again. This both relieves me that I don’t have to avoid him but also angers me that he’s acting like we’re super close. What the heck is his angle? He knows why I’m upset with him but asked me if we can still be friends and why I’ve been so upset with him. I’m genuinely confused.

Okay, first of all, did he break up with his girlfriend? If not, the situation should be over from your perspective. Second, he's being nice, and wants to be 'friends' because he wants to fuck you again. Duh.
This is the guy who was banging some other girl when you were seeing him before... uh, why do you even care what he thinks, says, does, what his "angle is" ANYTHING. Dude is a piece of shit. End of story.
