Guy's Behavior

Guys, I need your opinions?

This coworker of mine, he's a very chill and friendly person. Generally says hi to everyone and we talked ever since he started at my job. He would tell me when he thought a girl was pretty, whether it was a coworker or guest but I never really know what to say when he does so I just kind of say like oh that's cool or whatever haha. I would question it after a few times and wonder why he would always tell me just because I feel like he'd get more out of it if I was a guy haha and I would tell him that and he just would shrug or be like well don't you think so too? Recently, he opened up to me about a date he had but that they sadly cancelled and so he came to work bummed out. It was the first time he actually told me something like this, personal in his life and he even acknowledged it too and I told him he could trust me, I wouldn't say anything. Ever since then, I've noticed he's been a little different when he talks to me now and makes sure to always talk to me when we work the same day, etc. He asked me if I was seeing anyone and I said no and then he asked me if I wanted marriage and kids when I got older and I said yes and I asked him why he's asking me all this and he just said he was curious because he wants that too. I always thought when a guy talks to you about his dating life or when he's into other girls, that that's a pretty big sign that he sees you as a friend and nothing more obviously lol so I'm a little curious as to if i'm still right in my assumption or if maybe it's something else?
