Should I be surprised if a close online friend sent me a photo of his driving license?

We have never met. We were talking about birthdays. I can remember his birthday but he cannot remember his own so he took out his driving license to check. After checking, he said that I remember his birthday correctly and commented that his driving license photo looks dumb. So I asked him to show me and to my surprise, he sent me a photo of his driving license without covering anything. I actually just wanted to see the face on the license only.

If you were less than a decent person, you could claim credit in his name, buy a house even. Do all sorts of unmentionable things that could in effect ruin his life.

Actually, I am not surprised at you saying he is talented. Very clever people sometimes lack common sense. Yes he trusts you but one day you and he may fall out. Nobody can ever say with complete assurance a friendship is for life. What then? I get you are a decent person, but you hold his financial status in his hands.
