I told this guy I wanted him but he said he's gay. So why does he still want to be friends even though he knows I'm attracted to him?

I thought maybe he was but I wasn't sure. Because I saw where he said he was interested in women and where he liked adult female pages on FB.

As a gay man, I should say I have many more female than male friends. Whom you're sexally attracted to vs. whom you would like to spend most of your time are not the same person, for some individuals.

If your friend explicitly said he's gay, he most probably is, while he could really be enjoying his time with you as a close friend. Most of my female friends see me as a girl and treat me as such, while we exchange even our deepest secrets sometimes.
And, our social media pages often reflect the level of our friendship.

All these said, I do agree with you that, once your friend knew you were attracted to him, he should have been a little more thoughtful about the way he approached you. But, that still does not change his homosexuality.
