What do I do when I made the mistake of trying to be friends and placate harasser men children at work? I am a woman in my 20s. I have started ignoring them except when nececessay. One has gotten anther man child to start harassing me now as well.

I'd take things up with your HR department.

Even if your employer has no official HR department, there's still the boss.

There's no need for you to put up with harassment.

I know that some people fear repercussions from reporting harassment, but I've found that those fears are largely unfounded.

You deserve to be treated properly, whether your current employment is important to you or not.

If you're in the U. S., the Department of Labor Relations can help you if needed.

Stand up for yourself.
No one can do so as well as yourself.
There are people who will help you achieve it.

Thank you. I was so close today but I knew if I went at that moment I would be a sobbing mess and I doubt they would take me serious or may think i am crazy or overemotional. But at some point if they keep it up I will have to report them to HR like just go and file a complaint. Because I should not be on the verge of tears at work and angry once let alone frequently.

I agree with you in not going to HR when you're an emotional mess.

I just thought of this.

Calmly, but firmly tell the culprits that you will go to HR if the harassment continues.
It could put fear in their bellies, relieving you of the need to go any further.
Bully man children are still just adult sized bullies.
The best way I know of dealing with bullies is standing up to them.

When you speak your mind, calmly and truthfully, people will respect you for it.

Find friends (preferably with power) and talk it with them instead. They know the power structure and can deal with it.

Bullies only understand the language of power, but if the culture is already corrupted, you are kind of out of luck.
