why? is he insecure or tries to impress me?
Do guys usually try to impress girls with their knowledge?
why? is he insecure or tries to impress me?
Yes and no. Some girls are sapiosexual, meaning they're turned on by a intelligent dude. I've personally hooked up with a few nice ladies that were more than willing to do dirty things with my body just because they thought I talked smart.
I guess it's them thinking I analyze things carefully and am sure of who I am and what I believe in. And also have a lot of knowledge about a lot of things, which would make me interesting to conversate and be around.
My crush used last time big words when we were talking about health (I’m a nurse by the way) I don't know if he wanted to impress me…..
Maybe so, but is there anything negative about that? If we like somebody it's only natural that we want to show the best version of ourselves, as long as it's not a fake side or ingenuine it's something good. So I'd say it's a good sign, or he just wants to feel as smart as you or seem like he knows as much as you to just carry on a conversation.
No, I find it demeaning to do that to a girl. I used to try and impress girls with gentleman efforts (offering to help them with something, or open doors for them) and I still do just in a less forced manner. I am not an expert on females but it does seem more effective to be gentlemanly and polite rather than big and impressive.
Recently I talked with my crush.
Does it seem like he tried to do that?
I messaged him like 11pm on instagram. I asked him a question about a drink that he posted about. I asked it’s really all natural and he went to look information of the product from their website for me and said that it’s a really great drink lol.
Then I said to him that I don’t really believe companies own advertisements. Then he sent me 7 line of text how companies can't lie about those information etc. at the end he was like it’s a great company and he buys natural products from there.
He sounded really smart (used big words and gave thoughtful replies)
Interesting thing is that he knows that I work in the healthcare field. Also he isn’t the type of guy that would buy natural products and really emphasize it.. by the way the company that he talked about was a superfood company. I don't know if he just wanted to impress me……
Why do u think it’s blatantly clear that he wanted to impress? I kinda like it but atsole points it can come across demeaning….
Maybe it wouldn't seem clear if you didn't emphasize that he researched the website or that he didn't know about the company beforehand. If that stuff is true, then I would still feel confident in saying he is trying to impress (I don't know romantically but still trying to impress)
if they're not good looking they would be better off impressing with humor

Some people have a need of being portrayed as intelligent and seek validation for that as people seek it for good looks. And that can get very annoying when they constantly want to pontificate.

It would be more impressive if they knew this: up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, start. Now that is impressive. :)

Last time*
I don’t. I rather a girl just find me attractive for the man I am. Not trying to flex or boast to grab the attention

What do you think :)) ?
All that I know is I know nothing. How could women possibly be impressed with that?
Not everybody but
some do because that’s all they have they’re not athletic
My crush is handsome tbh not necessarily athletic but he’s in shape. I’m college educated and so is he by the way.
Does that mean that he likes me?

I know about that…. why do u thinks so?
So u think he’s intetested?
Why? He doesn’t text me first etc
I will be more obvious with him from now on. Anyway what makes u believe that he’s interested?
We’ve just talked in instagram. We have just bumbed to each other irl not talked. Anyway u didn’t really answer my question :D
Then why did you say yes before when I asked u if you think he’s interested?
Yes to an extent that is true.
Yes, that's very common in my opinion.
Why they do that? It almost come across as “mansplaining” when they do that
To make themselves feel good?
But do they do that when they like her?
Yes, I think so.

He is trying to protect his fragile male ego.

In general what did you think about the conversation
Report vs rapport...
What?
Do guys try to sound smart all the time?
But why use big words woth me?
With*
Maybe that is how he’s use to talking. Maybe he’s studying GRE vocab for graduate school or something like that. I don’t know… I don’t really see that as flaunting your brain power… As a relatively smart guy I know all sorts of fancy words, but I tend to try to simplify my language as to match my audience and have to remind myself to keep it simple stupid… Maybe he is just obvious...
Obvious about what? That he likes me?
