It completely depends on the girl.

I've got a friend who's isiZulu. She's got very dark skin and she's beautiful.

Another of my friends has a West Indian father and a Caucasian mother. She's beautiful too.

My wife is African. Her skin is a different shade again.

One of my oldest friends is married to a beautiful Australian girl who's probably the palest skinned girl I ever knew. She's beautiful.

None of them are beautiful *because* of their skin colour.

I find women beautiful simply because they are beautiful. The melanin levels in their skin are irrelevant.

As close to their natural tone as possible. It looks "off" when a girl gets a fake or baked tan, or bleaches her skin, and when a guy figures that out, she comes across as insecure with herself and by extension, unattractive.

Pale skin always looks anemic and sometimes sickly.
Tan or brown skin looks healthy and vibrant with life.
Just my take on the topic.
Others' mileage may and probably does vary, and that's healthy.

A is a strong Autumn, with deep, warm toned clothing, etc. having her look the best for her.
B is a strong winter, and her sparce white, black and red palette works for her.

Overly pale skin is generally recognised as a sign of major illness. I'd rather take my chances with the tan-skinned girl.
