What does his comment mean? that he isn’t interested in me?

I had a nice chat conversation with a guy and we talked 4 days straight. Then we didn’t talk for a week. Mind you I was mostly initiating conversations with him and that text conversation was also started by me. Then I messaged him after silence:

I messaged him ” heyy, long time”
And he was like: hello! It’s been ages. Im doing good and you  ?

I asked him after his first reply
” so u was waiting for me to text you 😀🤔?”

And he got all defensive lol

He was like:
I wrote “it’s been ages “ because it sounded better than to write “a whole
Week has passed “

He also wrote:
” you made it look like I’m passive, I don’t usually wait around unless it’s about assignment 😂😂”

and then we continued to talk like everything was okay. He was asking questions etc.

That does seem conusing. And by talking, I mean, can you call him and talk to him? People can bond well over calls than texts.

It is. I agree. Problem is that texts can be interpreted so many ways. You can never really tell tone.

My personal opinion is no. I mean, there is that chance that he is texting just to be nice, but that just wastes his time and yours. I would hate to think that is what's going on.

Why not hint at meeting up for a coffee or lunch? His response will tell you everything you need to know.
