Assuming a guy is more or less emotionally healthy and two girls A and B are equally attractive/pleasant personality and so on

If girl A gives him more, is more responsive and girl B is more work or a "challenge". The guy will choose girl A every single time.

Doesn't mean he wouldn't fuck you too that night or another night. But why would he choose you over another girl all things relatively equal?

He wouldn't. Unless he's not emotionally healthy and has a fucked up thing in his head where he chases girls who are repulsed by him. Some guys do that. Maybe those guys might respond more to a girl making it hard for no reason.

But real hard to get challenge that guys respond to is a hot girl that is being pursued by other guys and he has to work a bit to get her attention. That competition and bit of effort to get your attention is the type of challenge guys respond to.

Because the Baseline has been achieved. You're attractive and guys in general already want you. Don't have to be the absolute hottest girl in the room but you do have to meet some bare minimums for this to help you

Like if I see a girl I'm not attracted to. I don't care if 50 guys are trying to get with her. I'm not interested.
If I'm not already attracted to a girl and she's playing hard to get I think she's weird because she can't just be normal.

If I am attractive and she's playing hard to get I think she's trying too hard and it's a turn off. If I'm attracted, she gives me a little to work with but other guys are vying for her attention. Now I'm enticed to try, looking for opportunities or looking to make one.

Because I was already interested, we had a little bit of something but I just couldn't get her full attention so now I want it more

It's not that guys like a challenge. It's more that it's kind of expected that it would be to a certain extent. Guys absolutely prefer things being straight forward. If you make things so difficult it will only be irritating, and they will only really keep going with it because they want something physical and there is a perceived opportunity. That's not preferred though. Just be willing to show interest and discernment. That balance will show that you are actually worth investing in, i. e. you aren't a flight risk or just sleep around but show that you aren't just trying to play games either.

In a stable relationship you want your partner to challenge you to continue to do better. Imagine how boring it would be if your partner is just cold fish on every decision you make.

Now how much of a challenge is ideal thats a whole new topic. Because It can give way to unrealistic expectations and disrespectful behaviour. But a little bit of sassyness in a girl makes a relationship much livelier imo😉
