Why did he randomly come visit my shift at a work. ?

First of all. He's an ex coworker.
Second. He's never done that before. He has visited other people on shift, but never me on my shift.
He didn't buy anything, just came by to come by I guess. Chatted for a few. Then I had to get back to work.

I'm hoping this is a sign he likes me, but I don't want to be THAT girl. It was just me on shift, he knows who's scheduled (he's still in the group chat for some reason.)

Well, I can't tell you for sure because I don't know why he was there. But from what you're telling me, he definitely likes you...
I did that many times. There is this secretary at my work that I wanted to take for a coffee, so I came there twice claiming that the heater was broken in my part of the office. It was broken. The first time I came there... 😅 So yeah, we do that. Did he had some "reason" to be there with you?

I dont think so. MAYBE to return a key. But I don't know why he was there at almost 10 at night, just before my store closes.

Again, it could be something we don't know about. Don't read too much into it. But it's possible he wanted to walk you home or maybe take you up for a cup of coffee after work or something.
