Can't figure out my gym crush behavior, please help?

I have a crush on one of the trainers in the gym. There was a long period of eye contact until one day I said "Hi" to him. After a few minutes he came up to me to ask me something and later he offered his help to unload the pole I was using for hip thrusts. I said thank you and we exchange our names. Since that moment when he sees me at the gym even if it's from the other side of the it, he waves and smiles at me but he dosen't come up to me anymore and for the rest of the workout when there are eye contacts, he's just like 😐. He confuse me very much. One day I came up to him to say hi and we were working on the same machine in turns and when we were sitting next to each other during our breaks from sets he didn't started any conversation and neither did I since he had his airpods in and I thought I might bother him. The first time I said Hi and he came up to me twice i thought this thing will kick off but now i don't know...

There may be several possibilities. I will tell about three possibility.
1) He is not into you , he just said Hi because you said and he comming to you is what every trainers do. There is nothing special in it. So don't do anything impulsive.

2) He might be thinking that you are not interested. So he is worried that you might put him in that crazy stalker list. (Due to long eye contact as you mentioned).

3) He is waiting for you to make a move. I just don't understand why you guys are scared to ask someone out. He is just a guy not a monster he won't eat you if you go and talk to him.

My personal advice ask his number and start texting.

First of all thank you for your reply.
I'll tell you why I'm scared to make a move. It's because of possibility 1. If he isn't into me and just being nice, I'll be embarrassed to see him. I thought about adding him on IG but that might be weird to explain how I found him since he only told me his first name ( i did a little stalking 🤫)
I'm really anxious to chase after someone who isn't interested at all and making a fool of myself. I hope next time I'll see him he would approach me like he did the first time I said hi.

I know. I'm not considering him for a serious relationship since I'm older, so trying to hook up with me would be very nice of him. The fact that he doesn't try to is kinda humiliating...

Yeah I'm 28 years old and I assume he's 23 ish. I don't think I'm setting the bar low. If I consider a man for a serious relationship, trust me when I say that I doesn't low down standards. But casual hookups? I don't really care. I mean if a guy is hitting on everyone but not you, it's kinda sad..
