Should I be friend with him after what he did?

My colleague told me that he wanted to date me many times and that he took it seriously but he never cared about me, he replied to my messages after a day or two and when I met him he avoided eye-contact, when I decided to talk to him about that he didn't seem like he really liked me, he said that he was joking, he would never date me nor love me and that I'm the one to blame for taking this joke seriously... Now he insists on being friends and he texts when I stop texting him... should I be friend after what he did? or should I ignore his text messages and never talk to him again? And why did he do that?

He probably did it either because he thought it would be funny (In which case he obviously doesn't care about you) or because he wanted to make you work for it (in which case he was trying to manipulate you into liking him)
As you can see. he comes off bad in both of those scenarios.
There are 4 billion men on this planet. I'm sure you can find one who won't do that to you!
