How to make the conversation better?

So i just started talking to this guy, I know him from high school. The conversation was okay the first two days. Now it feels like it’s dying down. I actually want to see where this goes but if the conversation is like this im scared he is going to stop responding or something. How do u spice conversations up make them more fun? He tries he isn’t a dry texted but I do im not intrigued quite yet

Open questions. Not yes/no answer questions. How do you feel about... What do you think about... What is your opinion on... Then be sure to nod head and say things like yeah, un hunh, wow, sure, of course etc while they are rambling on. Listen for their information. Then ask questions about what they said. ... However, if you do all this and all they can do is come up with goofy one liners like all these chicks on dating apps, then there probably is no hope and you should move on

You might not be into him or just using an excuse to meet him.

Doesn't matter how much or how little you talk. If you two naturally click and want each other, you wouldn't be worrying about conversations.

As long as you have good communication and know you want to be with him, even if it's laughing about how we "suck at talking haha".
