Does my boss like me based on how he cares for me?

He is 28 and I am 25. He is my new boss and started for about 2 months now. He always come to my working station and chit chats. I'm not sure if I'm the only employee he's treating me like this. But I just noticed that he always come to my area and talk with me most of the time about how we spent our days off and more like about his friends too.

Then yesterday, I feel sick and he let me go home. He texted me to feel better and stay at home if I can't work the next day. He seems very caring and when he texts it's more like personal rather than professional.

I worked today and after he left for an hour, he shoot me a message again to let him know if I don't feel well for tomorrow.

They are some people who show general interest for a person and not like them, but in the event that he actually does try not to mix work with friendship/relationship. I would have said ask him what's his deal but that may or may not scare him. I'm too blunt I would have straight out asked. Do you like me or what?
