Did I do the right thing to call him out?

I've been talking to this guy from another country for almost 5 years. I have visited him also. But I called him out today to tell him I wasn't happy about him that he said ge wasn't able to contact me during the work day until he gets on his computer because the Web app sucks. I'm also 6 hours ahead of him cause I live in the UK. I'm just feeling frustrated with the whole situation it's just not enough communication at all and he hasn't been online since Thursday afternoon

You're seeing why. Your instincts tell you that more communication is necessary because you guys can't be "together". But this is actually wrong.

You need some time apart to live your lives, so that you'll have something to talk to each other about. To learn about what's happening in those times that you're apart. Time to miss each other. This counter-intuitive fact is almost never taken on board, so that's your first reason they fail.

The second, is that people who go into LDR relationships usually think they can get by without physical intimacy. They downplay the importance of the physical. Sooner or later, one of them cheats because the body needs what the body needs, and what it needs can't be gotten over a Skype call.

Based on what you've said I'd say it's fine to say if you're not happy with the situation, maybe not go so hard on the man himself as to not start an unnessecary fight if unwarranted. Try to talk it out first.

Yes. You did. I spent 4 years in an LDR, and what a waste of time it was. Sad thing is, I still love her after two years have passed since we split.

My ex and I chatted all the time. Time difference and me studying were a problem, but we worked round it. Just faded out. It still hurts.
