Why didn't he want to take a selfie with me?

I was at a formal party and this guy I have a crush on was there along with his family. Eventually, I started taking selfies with friends and his family and when i asked him for a picture of us he said and I quote, "oh I don't know.. I don't know if I should" with his head slightly down and avoiding eye contact.. eventually he agreed to it but it felt like a pity selfie so I deleted it. We have been acquainted for like 2 years and he was taking pics with others like 5 mins after I asked him for one.. Sidenote: i used to have a crush on his older brother but nothing really happened there and he is the one I truly ended up liking..

He may be in a connection with someone else. He might not like taking too many pictures or a little concerned if you post it on your social media people will assume you're together. Some guys are uncomfortable with taking pictures and others do not want to be seen with the girl taking the image as it would give her others ideas that he likes her.(Now this might not be the case, maybe he is shy but you would know him better than I do) He could be dating multiple people and he doesn't want any of them to find out. I don't know him as well as you do. He took the picture so he doesn't come across as an asshole , maybe just to be nice and not to reject you. It doesn't matter how long you know someone, always make sure you have their permission for a picture and if the vibe is off do not even take a picture as he already doesn't want to take one with you. That goes for any excuse.

Some people (and a lot of guys in general) don't like to have our picture taken, period. But it could also be he didn't want people to make any judgments about your relationship? Or maybe both? And that doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't like you either. Often we guys are the complete opposite to you women. When you're in a relationship or like a guy, you want to do things like this and "broadcast it" to the world, we are usually the opposite and don't like broadcasting it at all. We're more private that way and view it as nobody's business. But you can ask him directly how he felt about it, then you'll know.
