What does it mean if a guy hugs you while you are crying?

Today I was talking to this guy (who is my crush) about something that made me upset and tear up a little. At first he stroke my shoulder and then he hugged me with one arm and stroke my back. He then proceeded to comfort me.
What does it mean? Is it a good sign he hugged me? Even thought it was only with one arm?
