Any reason why a guy would do this + was me texting him rn a good idea?

I had this one friend named Jake. We would walk sometimes during lunch and talk. I had a crush on his friend, and Jake knew. However, it was no big deal. He obviously didn’t have any problems with it because we were friends. Then summer came and he stopped talking to me. I tried to text him and he either left me on seen or was dry. So I left him alone. I saw him again yesterday after 1-2 years. He was staring at me. If me and him were strictly friends, what could’ve let him to act this way? I also texted him asking why he ghosted me and our friendship. He hasn’t replied. Should I just go and delete the text?

I don't think it is particularly bad to text asking why/if he ghosted you. I'd say if he doesn't respond, you have your answer unfortunately.

Any clue as to why he stopped talking in the first place?

Alright, I just sent the text so i’ll wait a little longer. I honestly have no clue, we were honestly good. I was thinking maybe it’s because people get distant over the summer. But it was still weird how dry he was when I tried texting him

@theresyourgravy that is strange for someone who was friendly to just completely change. I was wondering if maybe he got involved with a girl or something? Not that it would mean you can't be friends but perhaps it is awkward for him to bring up.

Just deleted it but then I realized it’s gonna say I deleted it since it’s on snap. I wish he didn’t ghost me. I miss him so much and talking to him felt normal
