I had a crush on a guy. We used to text a lot but I used to avoid him a lot in person. He would always look at me expecting a hi but I would always avoid. He started being very cold towards me in text. The guy tried to make me jealous with my friend by sitting next to her and avoiding me. He knew I had a crush on him. We know each other from school but now we ignore each other. He stares at me with a sad look now. Sometimes with sharp gaze. Why does he want to hurt me. Why is he not kind to me?

I don't want to sound rude, but unfortunately you created this problem.

He liked you, always tried to interact with you first, in the hopes of getting to know you more, but you dismissed it and shut him down in person 24/7. Texting is not real life, and in order to establish intimacy you need to speak and be together with someone in person.
Whether you did this because of internal reasons like anxiety, shyness or cultural reasons, or you did it for attention and in order to make him chase you more, you need to realize that some people interpret your actions as rude. Especially if they like you.
In reaction to you constantly blanking him and hurting him by doing so most likely, he no longer tries being nice to you, as in his mind you weren't nice to him. Perhaps he still does like you, but isn't acting maturely enough (as evidenced with trying to make you feel jealous by sitting with your friend), to confess his feelings towards you, and then either ask you out or walk away from you for good.

My advice to you would be to talk to this guy in person.
You have class with him, so after class just touch his arm, pull him aside, confess how you feel towards him (as it sounds like you still have a crush on him because you are asking this question with good detail), and then apologize to him and see if you can go out with him sometime.
Ignoring and blanking people is never a good thing. There's a difference between being shy and quiet, and then being rude. He obviously has interpreted it as rudeness and you not liking him, and it's upset him.

What are your reasons for avoiding him in person? You give mixed signals yet you wonder why people walk away from you.

If you have a crush on someone, then you don't give this hot-cold treatment because you confuse people, mainly the ones you try to attract.

It is obvious that you are mostly at fault for his behavior. If you were not giving out mixed signals then none of this would happen. I fail to understand why you act like that and now you are surprised if he reacts in a way that you don't like.

He does give you the cold shoulder to tell you that you cannot play with his feelings and he is kind of retaliating and playing the same game as you do.
