Guys pay me zero attention, I mean zero. I’ve never once in my life been flirted with or acknowledged by a guy. At this point I’m throwing caution to the wind, I don’t care what kind of attention I just want to be noticed (in an attractive sense.)

I get attention pretty much everywhere I go. Favors, stares, approaches, flirts, serenades, you name it.

I would consider myself attractive, but I'm definitely not stunning in any sense. I actually have a couple physical imperfections that more shallow guys consider dealbreakers.

Attention starts with your attitude towards men. You have to understand the power you have as a cis, straight woman who is male, sex, and romance positive. Men are funny, cute, and they want to help you, connect with you, and please you. They have powerful emotions they will reveal to you purely because you're a woman they're attracted to. Their desire for sex is intertwined with their desire to make your body feel euphoric.

They are also much more visual than you. The sight of a woman they like is a powerful motivator for them. An attractive woman who has a sweet voice with good verbal rapport with them, smells like perfume, and is soft, is a 4/5 senses experience. Add food to the equation, if they're into that, then it is literally a 5 senses experience.

Getting male attention boils down to looking your best, being positive, and internalizing the mindset above. If you're looking to attract plenty of attention in a crowd or seduce someone specific, work on making your presence a 4 senses experience.

I’ve been called pretty and beautiful unprompted and I dress well so I don’t think I’m conventionally unattractive. Also I didn’t ask why I asked what to do to get attention.

I don’t know how to flirt but I’ve definitely talked to and shown interest in guys first. Each time I’ve been ignored or shut down. The last time guy showed interest in me was in middle school and I’m in college now :/

Well, the point I was trying to make is that guys are no different, except they are expected to take the initiative anyway, but sometimes they don't have the courage to. I would suggest you overcome your fear and take some initiative yourself. What I mean by that is if you are interested in a guy, show your interest. Chances are there have been plenty of guys who were interested in you but didn't have the courage to act on it. You showing interest in a guy could give him the confidence to make a move. And a woman showing interest in us can sometimes pique our own interest, even if we hadn't thought about her before then. Good luck to you!
