Why do guys always ask if u had been in a relationship before? Also, when asked why, they always reply with a "just curious"?

Have you been in relationship, is kind of question just to say do you have "experience" in those "waters". Also it could be pre question for "when did you had your last relationship" because if you had one lets say before month and you are looking for another one that "fast" that could be some kind of red flag, at least for me. :D
