Is it weird he still talks to girls that he pursued?

He calls them his friends but they are all women he either had sex with regularly or tried to pursue a relationship with but for one reason or another they were missed opportunities bc one of the parties started dating someone else. He doesn’t keep in touch with any of his exes though. Am I just over thinking this?

The girls he regularly had sex with is kind of weird, it depends on how long ago and their history since then. If they've been platonic friends for a while I'd consider them exes basically, and sometimes people are friends with exes.
The girls he never got together with is normal, when you're friends with the opposite sex for years sometimes feelings get weird and you're not sure if you're just friends or not. As long there's nothing going on now it's just something that comes with having a long history together as friends
