Why does he always tease me about being in love with him?

So I've been seeing this guy for a couple of months now. We have an extremely close bond and although we aren't ready for a relationshionvecause of past traumas on both sides, we have admitted we have feelings and we are a blessing in each others lives. He stays at mine couple times a week and we go out and call and text on a daily basis quite a lot. Only recently he's started teasing me saying I'm in love with him/ I love him which I deny as I'm not ready to admit it to him yet and want to take things slow. What does this mean? Does if mean he loves me or wants me to admit how I feel? I'm not usually one to ask the internet but I'm so confused and google can't help lol.

Sounds like he maybe testing the water
hoping to gain some reassurance from you that he loves you but might be scared to take the first step and get hurt if you don’t feel the same way
you both need to be clear on how you feel and if your both in the same place be brave and put yourself out there
take a deep breath and tell him how you feel hopefully your both on the same page

You basically are in a relationship with him. Just laugh it off and say “No I’m not you wish.” But do it in a light teasing way so he doesn’t think you’re being mean to him.
