Do guys normally respond late to messages/texts?

It may just me but every guy that I am trying to get to know/ tried to get to know responds within a few hours or maximum a day later. If they respond Quick, it would be within 5 minutes. It really annoys me because sometimes they are the ones that initiate the conversation and then don’t reply when sometimes they are active. Even for my ex boyfriend, before we were dating, he would respond within 8 hours or so. Honestly, I don’t know if guys are typically like this or if I’m doing something wrong

Replying late is not the sole prerogative of one specific gender.

For example, I personally take all my time to reply because 100% of those messages I receive have not originally been initiated by me.

All those that know me are aware that I abhor those texts, for one because my 1996 Nokia 1011 only allows basic texting and that it is a real pain in the buttocks to answer back depressing the number keys a million times to say a basi trhee words sentence.

Guys in general don't like texting. It's boring, tedious, and a horrible medium for communication. Girls treat it with much more importance.
