Why is he suddenly using my name all the time when he never really did before?

I've known this a guy awhile. I always really liked him. He had initially been very shy with me and people would tell me that he would get really jealous of other guys that knew me.

But I won't put any more effort into him since he is always drawing close and pulling away at the same time. Flirting hard and showing clear interest in person but never following up via phone or text. Especially when I reciprocate interest he will disappear on me. When ignored him, he committed the dreaded accidental text and fake wrong number crimes on me. That was awhile ago.

Then he would make plans and not follow through.

I did give him a cold shoulder on purpose and told him I wasn't happy about the way he was acting with me. After getting it off my chest, I all but ignored him.

I had been helping out a friend of his and I often talk with the friend freely about the issue I was assisting him with. This meant I spoke to his friend more than I did him.

Recently, the guy I still do like always calls me by name and does these little helpful things. It doesn't change much for me since I've deleted his number due to his flakiness. I am asking because I am curious why he would suddenly start using my name when he never really did before.

Not that anyone cares but yeah he tatoally is trying to get back in my good graces but he killed the attraction with all the wishy washiness so we are friendly and respectful.

He's developing. And he's got the message clearly when you given him the cold shoulder. He clearly is interested in you but doesn't know how to interact. Young introvert problems. Give him another chance those kinds guys are loyal and won't break your heart. But the first few steps will be little tough. If you're up to the challenge, give it a try. And I want to tell you don't break him, but then breaking him will develop him faster. But with a huge pain. I'm speaking with experience even though I want that introverted.

He knows how to flirt just fine and absolutely had other irons in the fire. I thunk he just wants attwntion from me and that's it. He's mad his friend got attention from me even though it wasn't even remotely romantic. I don't like being used. I can't give another chance to someone who keeps retreating and playing hot and cold games.

Also, he is 38 years old and a divorcé. He was married really young though and for a really long time.

Hm, there is only three answers towards this which is either he's trying to act casual (guys usually do that when they realize of what they did wrong and, in their mind, they think you still have grudge towards them) and make up things with you, he is trying to forget his feelings towards you since he was hurt, or he lost interest but still trying to have a good relationship with you.

Yes, this makes perfect sense. The name thung started after I saw both he and his friend together. I asked for help with something but basically asked his friend since I feel more comfortable speaong to the friend now. There is nothing romantic going on with myself and the friend. When I got back, the guy had taken care of the issue for me and not the friend. That's when all of this "name calling" began.

Also, I recall him acting salty when I started helping his friend out from before.
