Why does my guy coworker teases me a lot and today when he noticed I might be upset he stopped and said “I just like to tease you” but I mean no harm?

Sometimes when I was teasing a girl at work, it would be because she was so quite. And if I teased her about something she didn't actually do, she would "defend herself" by saying she didn't do it. It got her talking and laughing in a way. So it kind of got her out of her shell so we could talk more about other things.
