He has not been texting me the entire weekend, but he told me he will be very busy as his dad came to visit and he has a birthday. Is he over it?

So we’ve been chatting and I came to realise that like many other guys, this guy focuses on one thing at a time. We have however been having extensive conversations and everything has been great. I am used to and very fine with him not “chatting” during the week whilst he is working as I get extremely busy too. We had an amazing date and subsequently he told me that he really enjoyed it. However, Friday is eve he told me that he is just out and he will reply when he has an opportunity, but since then nothing, even though I sent him a text Saturday morning.

Prior to the weekend he told me that his dad is visiting and he hasn’t seen him in some time, he had a birthday yesterday (Saturday) and today he is building on a car with his pops.

I really like this guy and he seemed very into it too, but now I am in that dangerous place or making assumptions.

Any advice would be great. Why is he doing this? What should I do? What should I not do? Do I send him a text and ask if I’ve done something wrong? Some say that sending a text like that is self-sabotaging. I just hate this and feel somewhat disappointed. I mean he has surely had a moment to check in, as he has definitely been online, but he is also the type of guy that wants to reply to everything you’ve said in your previous message so I also appreciate the fact that he might be waiting until he has a moment to do this properly.

My mind is running away with me and I hate it.

So is this guy your boyfriend? The way I read it you've been on one date with him? He told you he would be spending the weekend with his Dad (whom he hasn't seen in a long while) . He laid out what his other plans were for the weekend. Yet all you do is make it about you. Chill out ffs.

Np, just wait for a bit, you already said that when he is busy he doesn't chat that often. So my guess is that he is into something and he will answer when he finish with that.
Other thing came to my mind about you saying "I am in that dangerous place or making assumptions.", that is damn overthinking, something you can't unfortunately avoid but you can try to control.

Has it only been a couple days? If so, I think it's fine. He will text you when he misses you. Just wait for his text, otherwise you might annoy him but constantly messaging him to get his attention.

Hm... If he's active online but not sending you a message, that's a bit of a red flag... What was his post about, if you don't mind sharing? How long was he active for? I'm going through the same thing with my partner where he's active on Discord when he plays video games with his buddies, but he sometimes sends a quick one text message before he goes to bed and i hear nothing more that night from him.

I thought this to be the best approach. So rather not say something like “I hope I have not done anything wrong?” Just leave it. He’s been really good and making effort surrounding our date. I don’t open up very easily so this is just nerve wrecking as he seems so great for me.
