Men... what does a kiss on the lips mean to you?

Its kinda philosofical question... What makes you want to lean in and kiss a girl on her lips? What do you need to feel to have this desire to do so to her? What do you feel while you kiss her?

Okay, honestly I do not what to sound crude, but I must be truthful because you come on here asking an honest question and you deserve an honest answer.

For a guy to have the desire to kiss a women does not really require a lot of thought or feeling. So if he is sexually attracted to you in anyway he will want to lean in and kiss you. And in all honestly it shows or proves that he has a certain degree of confidence in himself to do it... because nothing sting more than the sting of rejection when you go for a kiss and she pull way. But do not fool yourself into believe that just because a guy kisses you that he actually had real feeling for you other than sexual attraction.

Now in saying that I recognize that every guy is different and some men place a higher emotional value on kissing a women... but sadly for most its only about sexual attraction. But even in saying that do not discount the belief that good kiss is not the first step in productive and meaningful relationship.

Do not read to much more into a kiss other than that from a man. It means that he is sexually attracted to you and would probably be interested in more than just a kiss. Maybe not right there and then, but if he gets a kiss in the first date or two he is thinking that it is a 100 times more likely that he will eventually get sex from you. And if you kiss him back he at the very least will think you are willing to explore the possibility of sex in the near future.

For me the kiss is the first step in testing if a women is interest in the possibility of dating me, and if she pulls back then I assume she is not interested. Even if she is interest she is either not in a place that she would be open to dating, or that she other wise has some degree of insecurity about intimacy. In any event it would be red flag to me. After the 3rd date if we are not kissing then I assume its not meant to be and I move on.

To me it most definitely means "serious relationship". I cannot find the will in my heart to kiss on lips unless my heart is totally on-board with being in a serious relationship.

If I don't have a strong level of passion about a relationship, a kiss on the lips is misleading. It signals to her I am very interested in her and our relationship, when, in reality, I am not (yet) very interested in our relationship.

I could be wrong, but I don't think everyone feels the way I feel. If so, then a kiss on the lips is not a reliable indicator of commitment to a relationship.

Overall attraction, both physical and mental/social is what makes you want to draw a woman close and kiss her. The way she makes you feel when you converse, the laughter she creates, how awesome she smells, how smooth and appetizing her skin looks/feels, a beautiful smile and eyes, and of course looking unbelievably “put together”…just makes you want to have her body as close to yours as possible. Last but not least…an intelligent and open minded mentality is incredibly sexy!

It means that I can perhaps steal her chewing gum :)
It also means (to me) that I demonstrate that she has a special place in my life - I don't kiss others on the lips.
In some specific moments it ALSO means that I'm flexing/'warming up' my own lips in preparation of proceeding to further downwards.
So: as it depends on my motivation, the ''feeling'' I have that moment is variable:
Affectionate, horny, reassuring, humorous, etc.

Also I love kissing so much, it's an easy way to feel connected to someone.
It's so intimate and yet erotic, subtle and wholesome.
So I might disagree with most guys on the subject, it's not just another act for me.
