When people say "for now," they are generally implying they don't see it continuing long-term. He may be in it 100% for now, so his actions may confuse you, but he probably sees this like a summer romance that will end when the summer ends. Asking him about his future plans may shed light on where he is going and the reasons he doesn't see you as part of that future. Don't invest more than you're willing to lose.
