I have been dating a guy for about 3 weeks. Last night was our first date at my house. He sent me a message today saying that he really enjoyed my company. How was my day, what his weekend plans were, He also made a comment that he hoped he did not over step his boundaries by wanting to make out with me.

It's the same as saying that he enjoyed spending time with you. If he didn't, he wouldn't have said anything at all or made the comments he did. If he contacted you after a date (something some guys don't bother to do), that is definitely a good sign. :)
