Is it OK to reply to an ex's insta story?

I dated someone for a short time, we broke it off amicably, but I did let him know I still had feelings for him then. Those feelings have now washed away, and we still follow eachother on social media's. We don't talk, and it is clear nothing will happen romantically for multiple reasons. He just posted something on his story, about a place I was a few days ago (he couldn't know, didn't post about it) and I want to reply with a recommendation. Is that OK to do to an ex? Not expecting anything to come from it, just being friendly.

It’s ok to do, but just be prepared for any outcome I would say. I know it’s so hard but try not to invest too much into the outcome of it. Be okay with whatever happens from the ex. X

Yeah, I'm not trying to start anything, except maybe some sort of civil-ness, or an platonic friendship? I don't know, I don't want him yo think im trying to start something either...
