Why do I think just cause a guy hits on me and stares at me (finds me attractive) means he should want to ask me out and date and marry me?

Its delusional. If you just look outside for once and see there's so many hot girls around. Especially in summertime. there's no competition. there's billions of hot girls everywhere a man looks.

by the way i dont dress revealing. So if anything im less hot because i dont show off the goods.

I think it´s part of a natural process so don´t be too hard on yourself and others.
You go out, you feel seen so you want him to tell you that you look not only good but also stunning in your outfit.
You want to attract a guy right?
I think that´s nothing bad it just means that you wish to have a male companion/boyfriend/partner.
That´s how nature works, it´s not completely delusional just more unrealistic because many of guys are too intimated and are thinking about a way to tell you what we feel without seem to be insulting or making the situation awkward.
Many guys start dating in their 20s so we don´t have much experience but that doesn´t mean that it´s never going to happen.
