What does it mean being a dark but energetic person?

My ex boyfriend said to me that he likes that I am a dark person, but at the same time I’m energy…like an engine that keeps moving forward. What does he mean by that?

Well, that’s the thing. I would prefer not to ask him directly because at the moment I’m giving him space. I want him back but I don’t want to pressure him or anything but I can’t help to get curious about what he mean describing me like that.
