I accidentally said something that got him mad and he rejected me. Is he just mad at me or it’s really over.

I kinda messed up…. I said insensitive comment accidentally regarding his surgery.
What should I do?

He told me that his surgery got postponed. I then said why am I not suprised 🤦‍♀️( I meant during covid many procedures have got postponed also I’m a nurse so I know the reality in the hospital). At that point I noticed that his energy changed…

by the way here’s how our conversation went after my comment about his surgery.

After my comment I said this:

Me: what do you think about the other day? Him: do you mean about when you was late?  I forgot about that long time ago. Me: good if you’ve forgot about that but I I didn’t mean that.

Then after almost two days he replied apologizing for his late reply. He then said” do you mean how the coffee date went or something else”

Then I said no problem. Yeah I meant how the coffee went.

He then said” it went allright”

I then asked him” and what allright means”

He said ” I answered vaguely because your question was vague. I can’t read your mind…  The coffee date went allright but I don’t believe that it will continue.

Me:” sorry I was too vague. I wanted to know if you wanted to meet again but I think I got my asnwer. ”

And yeah he hasn’t replied after that
