I've been talking to this guy online, we've been friends for like a year now, and I kinda like him and I think he likes me back too. He already knows my face, and wanted to hear my voice, I said it wasn't fair and then joked about him being an old man since he haven't shown his face or voice, and he seemed to be a bit cold after that and cut the conversation

You probably insulted him by making that statement without really knowing him enough to make sure that your jokes are accepted and understood.

It could also be that he believes that you found out the truth about him and that he is indeed not the person he pretends to be.

I would say that most people online cheat in a way or another about themselves, be it because they give a fake age, fake gender, fake personality, fake everything. They do it because they want to attract someone of the opposite gender for whatever reason.

I would not be surprised if he cheated about giving you details that don't correspond to reality.
