Because for many men, there is a lack of vulnerability that is socially acceptable for them to convey openly due to the culture, and the environment that their partner nurtures when together. Saying sorry, for a lot of guys, is a way of being vulnerable, and guys often push away vulnerability, because women push them away if they are vulnerable, because a lot of women instinctually think men are weak when they choose to show vulnerability, often He is seen as being gay or weak if he is too vulnerable, and many guys see this as a means to be stoic, covering up any signs of him showing any emotion. This bottling of emotions can be extremely unhealthy, but is nonetheless the norm that women establish as the standard of relationships.

A lot of women will swear up and down that they are loving and open to men being vulnerable, but this is a politically correct answer covering the truth that men are usually not allowed to be vulnerable in relationships, which is most of the reason why they're prideful and tough in the first place.

That being said, women can be conscious and considerate of their man's feelings. Ladies, Consider your standards for your relationships, and how men have feelings too, even if they are always wearing tough guy masks. Guys can still be confident and strong, even when they cry and when they're sorry, make room for them, your expectations of them might just be shutting them out emotionally without you even realizing it, Consciousness and awareness of your partner's health is important, look out for your man if he looks out for you.

Back to the question at hand, With apologizing specifically, it's mainly a pride issue. He may think he's in no position to say he's sorry, he may think he's done nothing wrong, or that he's in the right. It's good to have discussions that aren't heated to understand both the man's perspective, and the woman's.

Some women will never do it either. Personally I have no problem with it if I know I'm wrong or did something. Depend on what it is, he may feel he's done nothing wrong either (difference of opinion). But some people just refuse to. I think they see it as "weakness"

Cause if a guy admits he was wrong about something she'll remind him 30 years. Later, "oh yeah, well remember 30 years ago Oct 12th when you were wrong about blah blah? You even admitted it". 🤣
