Why did he stop messaging me?

I might be over thinking and he did have surgery today. I have been on a movie set and had trouble texting him and was misunderstanding his text a lot bc I wasn’t able to get a lot of time to actually read and respond properly so I offered to call him when I get home (he asked to call me this week). I was just going to check on him really. He said that he can’t because he popped a sleeping pill and I said that’s fine as I had to do the same and he stopped texting me. No good Or anything like normal. He proceeded to watch my stories on IG. He was texting me all the time before. Maybe he just doesn’t feel like talking. Or did I come on too strong? I’m just trying to weed out the red flags

I don't have enough information in my opinion too say anything if he really stopped messaging you fully then that's a detail of evidence that he didn't really care much for you but I don't have enough story
