Is he flirting with me?

So I just opened a new checking account online and wanted to deposit some money in it and avoid having to wait the 7-10 days for my debit card to come in the mail. I spoke the teller and told him what I was there for and he gave me the deposit slip to fill out like normal. While doing that, the pen stopped working so I asked him for another one and that one stopped working too. He gave me another one and that one also stopped working. We laughed about it and he gave me his pen. He jokingly said he doesn’t like to give his pen to anyone but decided to let me use it. So while he was processing the transaction he asked me if I was in school, and I told him I just graduated. We then talked more about what I studied, why I chose that path, where I went to school etc. He then mentioned that he liked the dress I was wearing and I thanked him. We exchanged goodbye’s like normal and I left. I actually had to come back in the next day for another deposit and he was there. He of course greeted me and joked about not having my debit card yet. The pen still wasn’t working again so he had to give me his and joked that I get to use his pen again. He then started asking me how I’m doing and how my day was and we made small talk. He asked me what my plans were for today and it was just getting some work done and a workout. He then jokingly said the $50 bill was a fake which we laughed about. After he was done he gave me my receipt and told me that he liked what I was wearing. I assumed he was flirting a bit but I also thought he could have just been nice, since tellers usually have to be friendly with customers.

Hmm I think it could go either way. Could be flirting could just be friendly small talk. The compliments on what you’re wearing seem to be flirting though.

He should have tested one and wrote a note, "quick bite at my lunch? Staples and Pens, perhaps?"

Buy a working pen at Staples... guess it is better that he did not.

Oh sorry didn’t understand at first. I mean the bank was pretty quiet both time because it was right before lunch, so he didn’t want to get in trouble. Or he wasn’t interested and just being nice

It was just a question. Most of the conversation was small talk and could be taken the wrong way

Small talk? He said he liked what you were wearing both times you talked to him... I mean come on really?

Yea I already said that I had assumed that could be flirting at that point… It doesn’t always mean the guy is interested. Many guys say and do things like this and don’t mean anything by it. That was why I asked the question.

Did it occur that he may not know if he is interested either. But he is definitely receptive to at least talking to you more, getting to know. He asked you were plans were that day? I mean, what else is he supposed to do?

Yea I admit I could have been more receptive to that question, but I wasn’t sure if was just a general question or not. I could have asked him what his plans are but I doubt anything would come from that because he’s at work.

I’m not avoiding anything. I actually think the guy is pretty cute, but its probably against policy to ask someone out at work. I’ll admit I’m a little nervous when it comes to talking to guys

I’m not the type to make the first move so nothing might come from it after all. Thanks for responding!

That's hardly making a move. If you expect guys to do all the work and just ask you out you will likely be very disappointed.

I understand what you’re saying, but I’m just not comfortable with that yet. I’ll just see how it goes lol
