Why is he behaving like this?

Me and this guy have been talking on Snapchat getting to know each other. We were at college together 8 years ago but we haven’t been on a date yet. We’ve been talking a lot though. He’s been calling me cutie, babe and sending me lots of kisses in texts so he’s been making it obvious he wants me as his girlfriend. Yesterday he wrote asking me to a hotel with a gym. I wrote suggesting meeting at an outdoor gym in a park for our first date. He refused and kept going on about the hotel. I kept refusing the hotel because I’m sure he wanted sex. He kept telling me that I’m missing out if I don’t go to the hotel. I think having sex with a man I haven’t seen for 8 years is too soon. I wanted to spend time with him and go on dates with him before having sex. So yesterday we didn’t meet because I refused his idea and he refused mine. He’s Bulgarian so maybe this bullying is just part of his nature. It’s worried me about him and I don’t know what to do. I already explained previously I wanted to get to know him first and he’s ignoring that. Should I contact him about it or leave it?
