When I told my friend I was a Christian, he laughed at me. Why?

Perhaps your friend doesn’t respect your faith? He DEFINITELY does not respect your feelings, if he laughed at you when you told him! I’d say that this is a toxic person that you don’t need in your life. But that is obviously entirely your personal decision.
