GUYS - if you’re seeing someone for many years on a non committal basis?

What are some reasons that would motivate you to move things further into something committed? Or is it plausible that a guy would want to remain single their entire adult life?

The only reason I would want to commit after years of being noncommittal is that something in my life had to change. A change, as in maybe my career settled down, or I reached an age where I realized "it's either now or never" in terms of having a family.

That's not a situation I would ever want to be in because the reason I was noncommittal before was because I wasn't excited enough by the woman to want to pursue a commitment with her. If I changed my mind about her, it's not a "Yay!" thing; it's more of a "sure, why not?" thing. I don't know that there is anything wrong with that, but it's not conducive to a whirlwind romance either.

The mother of my children deserves to feel loved, wanted, and cherished, like she was a decision I made instead of someone I happened to pick up along the way.

Thank you for the thought out response !! Is there a possibility that someone could really like a woman for a commitment but can’t do it because of their commitments to work and such?

Happy to help! I would like to think of myself as different from other guys, so I don't want to speak to what the average man would do. I can tell you that I personally wouldn't have even dated the woman casually if I took her that seriously. I think a lot of guys probably feel a similar way. When you meet someone who gives you THAT good of a vibe, the thought of doing anything to disappoint or hurt them is really gut-wrenching.

I would say that it's more likely that a guy who takes a woman seriously enough to marry her but is unable to would avoid a romantic connection with her entirely

If I connect with you emotionally, I am pretty much a basket case... that seems to be like on a same vibe with a woman. If that happens anywhere in that process you would know. And you would run or do a "finally". MAYBE, it's just me...
